We wake up with terrible news: cinematographer Halyna Hutchins has died as a result of being accidentally shot on the set of ‘Rust’. The perpetrator of the shot was Alec Baldwin, Main character of the film. The weapon also hit Joel souza, the director of the film, being critically injured.
Born in 1979, Halyna Hutchins grew up on a Soviet base in the Arctic. He studied journalism in his native Ukraine and began to make his first steps in the world of cinema. Among her credits as a cinematographer is ‘Archenemy’, from Adam Egypt Mortimer.
An incident under investigation
While it is still early in the investigation to draw conclusions about the incident, the official version, given by the Santa Fe Sheriff’s office is pretty clear: Hutchins and Souza “They were shot when a prop firearm was fired by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor.”
