British driver Carsper Stevensson has decided to turn his racing career around and give priority to GT racing after being third in the British F4 championship in the 2020 season and sixth in the EuroFormula standings last year. Stevensson thus makes the leap from single-seaters to the Mercedes-AMG GT3 machine hoping to show all his talent. He will compete with the #87 Mercedes in both the sprint rounds and the endurance rounds of the championship.
In the Endurance Cup, the second member of the #87 Mercedes crew will be Tommaso Mosca. This is by no means a new face within the GTWC Europe, as the Italian driver has previously competed in various rounds of the event managed by SRO Motorsports at the controls of different Audi GT3s. In fact, Mosca achieved an absolute podium finish at the GTWC Europe event in Misano in the 2020 season. Depending on the driver who joins both, the Mercedes #87 will be enrolled in one or another class.
For its part, in the Sprint Cup Stevensson’s partner will be the Frenchman Frouet. Already present in the team last season, the 23-year-old driver has a really interesting track record in GT3 races. The title of the Pro-AM category of the FFSA Championat de France appears on his resume, as well as several victories in the Silver category of the GT World Challenge Europe.
