The Canon EOS R3 is the first camera mirrorless with professional body of the history of the brand; a history that goes back a long way and, consequently, in which there are many models from which the current ones have in some way drank (no matter how much technology has changed). But better than telling it is seeing it in images, and that’s just what the colleagues at DPReview have done with a visual tour of Canon cameras dating back to the 1980s.
Through 19 photos in which models such as the Canon T90, EOS-1, EOS-3, EOS D30, EOS 1D, EOS R, EOS R5 and finally the EOS R3, the article shows us details of how the bodies of Canon high-end (or medium-high) cameras share a lot of things that demonstrate the DNA of the brand.
From the Canon T90 of 1986, which was a revolution in ergonomics and controls, until the new EOS R3 35 years have passed in which cameras had to face a tough transition from analog to digital. Throughout the gallery, the guys from DPReview accompany the images with some explanations that are not wasted and help to demonstrate that things have not changed so much, and that that camera of the yearned for 80 shares more things than we imagine with those of today.
If you like cameras, especially Canon of course, we recommend that you do not miss it (if you do not understand English give the option to translate in the browser) because it is not wasteful and it is, at the same time, an exercise in nostalgia and reaffirmation for those of us who love cameras.
