It is not the first rumor that arises about it but of course, it now sounds louder than ever. Those with the golden wing would supposedly have a new Honda CBR600RR ready that could be presented throughout the year and that can bring surprises.
And it is that the supersport has remained in other markets but since 2016 it said goodbye to the European with the emission restrictions of Euro 4, amount that practically remained faithful to the model that arrived in 2012. Perhaps we can see it again in Europe …
If it arrives, in Europe it would be placed as a rival to the Yamaga R6

In 2018 some voices were already heard pointing to the arrival of a deeply renovated Honda CBR600RR but two years later there is still no sign of it. Of course, now the rumors are much more encouraging and do not speak of long positions but only weeks or months.
And it is that the Japanese could officially present it throughout this year, maybe coinciding with some of the races of the Japanese superbike championship. If so, and without any official details about what might be coming, we would expect a pure Honda-style mount, with a four-cylinder block in line and a power surely above the 94 hp of the Honda CBR650R, although not higher than 120 CV. In this way, he would face the Yamaha YZF-R6, which offers 118 hp, weighs 190 kg and costs just under 16,000 euros.
And if it adapts to the Euro 5 emission regulations, then the move would already be round for those of the golden wing and for the Europeans who have been waiting for the return of this sport, which would be put on sale, taking the example of Spain, for above the 9,100 euros (CBR650R) and well below the 24,500 euros that the ‘one liter’ Fireblade costs, perhaps 40% less and in the best-case scenario.

It should be said that the last ‘600’ of the manufacturer that stepped on our continent incorporated a block of four cylinders in line, cubed 599 cc and had a performance of 118 HP. Its price was about 13,000 euros but with all the evolution that has been in the field of electronics (traction control, ABS, inertial measurement platform IMU…) and the necessary adaptations of the engine to the Euro 5 regulations, the cost can be shot in the sports medium cylinder. That, in the event that you want to be present in markets beyond Asian and North American, where they are laxer in terms of pollution standards.
Either way, it seems clear that it will maintain an aesthetic similar to that of the Honda CBR1000RR-R, without giving up the exhaust outlet under the tail to avoid losing its seal of identity, in addition to being completed with an updated chassis, with suspensions signed by Showa and with LED lights, among other more modern components.
Who wouldn’t want this bike back?
