The Secretary of the Treasury, Rogelio Ramirez de la Odenied this Wednesday that the purchase of power plants from Iberdrola, for nearly 5 billion dollars (mdd), represents an increase in the country’s public debt, since it will be done with own resources from the National Infrastructure Fund (Fonadin).
“It is a checkbook operation, it is not debt, what Fonadin does is manage (the operation) with its own assets,” said the person in charge of public finances at the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
