“It allows us to continue with this growth trajectory so that more and more companies can enjoy and take advantage of the technology that we have created in Clara. It allows us to extend access to this short-term financing to companies with competitive terms and also frees up more resources for continue investing in technology,” said Gerry Giacomán, co-founder and CEO of Clara, in an interview with Expansión.
The financing from Goldman Scahs will also allow it to double the number of clients it serves by the end of 2022. Currently there are 5,000.
Companies in the construction, communications and lodging sectors are the ones that have most requested Clara’s services, according to the firm.
Despite a complex economic environment in the coming months, caused by an economic slowdown in the United States, Giacomán said that companies continue to operate and demand their services, although they have seen a reduction in marketing spending.
Clara seeks to invest in technology such as artificial intelligence.
“We are very motivated to continue creating a solution that is so robust and attractive for companies of all sizes,” said the manager.
In addition to working with Goldman Sachs, Clara announced the hiring of André Henrique Santoro, who will join the team as Chief Risk Officer. Santoro will bring more than 15 years of risk management experience, including his time at CitiBank and RappiBank Brasil.
