If you are very hot, it is your emotions that are moving you. And I am not saying in any way that this is a bad thing or a good thing, without fever many incredible achievements would not happen, although we would also save ourselves some tragedies. But what I ask of you is that you simply ask yourself: are you deciding with your guts or with your head? and decide what suits you right now.
Mental training refers to how I transform my state in the face of a challenge and from the moment you are asking yourself the question, you are already influencing your condition. You will agree with me that there are people who decide without asking themselves anything and others who do not even realize that they have just made a momentous decision.
You can use questions and in general language to move your mind, it is a matter of beginning to be aware of how you talk to yourself.
If what you want is to be more emotional, ask yourself these questions: what does my body say? What is my impulse? Where does my intuition want to take me? What is the decision to which my feelings are dragging me? ? What motivates or excites me in this challenge? What does my fever point to?
But if, on the contrary, what you want is to be colder in the face of this challenge, better ask yourself: what will be a good decision if I see it from afar? Walking away is the key to cooling down and there are many ways to walk away from a situation. You can see it from the future, imagining that 10 years have passed or from someone else’s eyes.
You can also walk away by giving yourself time, talking to a person who you know will see it dispassionately or capturing it on a blackboard, because by capturing what is happening in an external object, you depersonalize it. Moving away and approaching are mental.
In the marathon of professional life you have to train constantly and without a doubt one of the most important practices is mental training. Learning to move emotionally away from and towards a challenge is one way. But there are more mental skills that you can apply at different times. Isn’t it the same state that helps us make better decisions, that which makes it easier for us to infect others with a project or the one that allows us to generate an idea out of the box?
Just as a building to resist an earthquake requires a flexible foundation that is plastic and adapts in an earthquake, a professional requires a mind that knows when to shut up, when to speak, when to press, when to heat up or when to cool down.
