Just several days after Russia began its military offensive on Ukraine, chef José Andrés and the NGO World Central Kitchen they are already ready to help, through food, the Ukrainian refugees who crowd the Polish borders.
Parking his previous commitment to feed Robert de Niro within the framework of Madrid Fusión, the Asturian chef has deployed part of his powerful aid entourage in the city of Medyka, one of the first crossing points between Ukraine and Poland, where on February 27 more than 4,000 meals were already being given to the refugees.
Similarly, chefs associated with the World Central Kitchen movement, which José Andrés founded in 2010, are also supplying food and prepared meals to hundreds of Ukrainians fleeing the conflict.
It is the case of the chef Alexander Yourz, responsible for Yourz Space Bistró, which has put its kitchen at the service of the resistance, feeding the Ukrainians who are defending the city of Odessa, in the south of the country.
They are not the only points where World Central Kitchen has been deployed, whose intentions are also are in being distributed along other borders, today converted into host lands.

This is the case of Ukraine’s borders with Moldova and Romania, as explained in Twitter Sam Block, director of operations of World Central Kitchen and bridgehead of the organization in the area.
