Farshad Shadloo, the YouTube spokesman, explained to the agency that RT and other channels would no longer be accessible in Ukraine, due to a request from the Ukrainian government.
In fact, Ukraine’s Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov tweeted that he contacted YouTube “to block Russian propaganda channels, such as Russia 24, TASS, RIA Novosti.”
Shadloo noted that videos from the affected channels will appear less frequently in YouTube recommendations, although he did not detail which channels were restricted, while RT and Simonyan did not respond to requests for comment.
Porn banned in times of war?
YouTube is not the only platform that has joined the sanctions against Russia. So did Facebook, the Champions League and now some social network users in the country ruled by Vladimir Putin say they can’t get into Pornhub because the content is suspended, only in Russia.
Russian netizens point out that when trying to access erotic content, the adult platform shows a flag and a message of support for Ukraine, others say that it is only the verification of legal age, which the site has been asking for for five years.
Until now, Pornhub has not commented on the matter, however, the apparent suspension of the service has already become popular on social networks and has divided the opinions of users from other parts of the world.
Is it a punishment for Russians not to consume pornography? They wonder. For now, those who cannot access Pornhub will have to use other erotic content platforms.
This is what happens when you visit Pornhub using a VPN routed through Russia. #ukraine pic.twitter.com/YejJmmmR3R

The sanction nobody is talking about. Russian users who attempted to visit pornhub were quite literally cockblocked by a message that told them that the content has been stopped along with a Ukranian flag and message of Ukranian support #ukraine #UkraineRussia #UkraineInvasion pic.twitter.com/XdI75534JW

Early in the pandemic, Pornhub decided to make its premium content available to everyone to make the lockdown more bearable. Now they prohibit access to Russia. Make better decisions globally Pornhub than all international organizations together.
