Mexico is going through a new wave of COVID-19 infections due to the Omicron and Delta variants.
Clouthier joins the list of public officials who have tested positive in recent days. The president of the board of directors of the Chamber of Deputies and elected president of the Permanent Commission, Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, from Morena, announced on January 3 that he contracted the disease and isolated himself along with his family.
In addition to the deputy, the former governor of Yucatán and deputy Ivonne Ortega, as well as Marco Mendoza, Mario Riestra, Selene Ávila and Miguel Torruco, as well as senators César Cravioto and Susana Harp, have announced their contagion.
This January 6, the cases of COVID-19 in Mexico exceeded 25,000, the last time the figure was exceeded was on August 18, 2021, when the Secretary of Health (SSa) reported 28,953.
