The Endurance Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe is the benchmark event in the GT3 category not only in Europe, but globally. This is confirmed by the impressive list of entries for the 2022 season, with a total of 52 GT3 vehicles and nine manufacturers represented. Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley and McLaren will have at least one GT3 on the grid in a championship that will have at least sixteen vehicles in the Pro class, a figure that could well rise above twenty.
Although there are still several GT3 that are not entered in any category and their presence in one or another class depends on the additions to their list of drivers, the 2022 Endurance Cup season will feature a minimum of sixteen GT3 entries in the Pro class. To these we must add the six cars present in the new Gold class and the almost twenty GT3 that will fight for the honors in the Silver Cup. Two vehicles appear entered in the Pro-Am Cup, while there are nine cars that are yet to be categorized.
Mercedes-AMG will not be the manufacturer with the most GT3 on the grid this time by having up to 11 vehicles registered under the umbrella of top-level teams such as GetSpeed, HRT, Winward Racing or AKKA-ASP. However, Audi will have twelve cars in the Endurance Cup with Team WRT, Car Collection or Attempto Racing as reference teams. The Audi #46 in which Valentino Rossi will compete alongside Frédéric Vervisch and Nico Müller stands out as it cannot be otherwise. Two BMW M4 GT3 and four Porsche 911 GT3 R complete the German deployment.
The other great force present in the championship is that of the Italian manufacturers, since Ferrari has five GT3 under direct management of AF Corse and Iron Lynx, including the car with a 100% female lineup listed as an independent structure under the name Iron Dames. In addition, the Italian firm has Miguel Molina at #51. Up to nine are the GT3 with the Lamborghini logo inscribedamong which is the #63 in which the Spanish pilot Albert Costa will also compete.
Finally, among British manufacturers, the growing representation of McLaren stands out. In fact, the firm is represented by Garage 59, JP Motorsprot, JOTA Sport and Inception Racing for a total of six cars on the grid. More discreet is the presence of the GT3 machinery of Aston Martin and Bentley. In fact, on the part of Aston Martin only features the two cars from the Beechdean AMR team, while the only Bentley entered is the unit from the French CMR structure.
