Most babies take their first steps at thirteen months, although each child evolves at a different rate
Without a doubt, one of the most important evolutions of your child is when he begins to walk. To stimulate his development and help him in the process, follow these useful and practical recommendations.
1. Beware of falls. A fall or a strong blow in the first attempts can create insecurity and fear. The blows are unfeasible although most do not usually have serious consequences. Your attitude during the fall is essential, because the little one will notice if you worry or not if you are scared or alarmed, and on these reactions, his fears will depend. You should not give importance to falls in which nothing happens to you. Always attend to it but don’t make a drama.
2. Avoid overprotection. It is important to let him experiment, try new things; that he falls as many times as necessary, leaving him as much freedom as possible. Of course, try to make your home a safe training place: remove all obstacles and furniture that can cause a serious blow.
3. Encourage him by playing. Play should be the engine of their learning, that the child has fun learning. He introduces music in his first steps, performs exercises with it (leg curls, stooping and getting up, jumping, etc.) Jumping on a cushion, the sofa or the bed they love and stimulates their sense of balance.
4. The first steps, barefoot. Going barefoot helps stimulate the grip of the fingers. If it is cold, remember to put on non-slip socks. Is it good to walk on uneven surfaces like sand, grass?
5. Applaud each progress. Encourage him, but don’t push him or make him do it quickly.
With these simple tips in a short time, your little one will be able to walk without any problem. Good luck!
