This weekend we celebrate in Spain the Father’s day… And what better way to spend it than making a bun on the sofa enjoying a good movie? As the occasion requires, for this weekend I want to recommend 4 animated films in which parents are very important and that you can see on different streaming platforms.
‘Goofy and son’
This is one of those Disney hidden gems that in the 90s happened a bit without pain or glory but over time it has become a cult film. When we were little we all wanted to be Max and we couldn’t stand how Goofy tried in every way to ruin his son’s vacations to spend time with him.
But then you grow up and realize that ‘Goofy and son’ is a gift and that Goofy is one of the best fathers in the world. In addition to being very funny, the movie has some incredible hits that you are going to want to put on a loop.
‘Gru, my favorite villain’
We went from a natural padrazo to one that ends up being one accidentally. Although the franchise ‘Gru, my favorite villain’ has become the Minions show, the movie installment of the saga is still a hilarious and surprisingly loving movie.
Gru is a supervillain whose plans do not finish curdling. To make the killing blow he needs a good cover, so he adopts three orphaned girls named Margo, Edith and Agnes in order to sneak into the fortress of his archenemy. But of course, what he did not expect is that along the way he would end up loving the girls and becoming the father they need.

‘Onwards’
‘Onward’ is one of the most recent films of pixar, and that unfortunately has been somewhat overshadowed between the pandemic, and the success of ‘Luca’ and ‘Red’. And still, it’s a unique film, with a very original lore full of magic and a beautiful reflection on father figures.
The father of Ian and Barley He died when they were very young and the youngest of the brothers does not even remember him. When a strange spell and an ancient staff fall into their hands, the two brothers embark on an adventure to try to win back their father for one day.

‘Transylvania hotel’
We finish our recommendations for this Father’s Day with another father, although it may not seem like it at first. ‘Hotel Transylvania’ can boast of having given the starting shot to one of the great current franchises of sony animationand also laying the foundation stone for the CGI animation trends we’re seeing right now.
dracula is the owner of Hotel Transylvania, where monsters can relax and be themselves. In the middle of her daughter’s 118th birthday Mavisthings get complicated when he appears Jonathana human backpacker who could endanger the secret world of monsters.
‘Hotel Transylvania’ is another hilarious movie that shows us a different side of monsters than we’re used to with a few very interesting twists. But above all, is a movie about a father who learns to put his daughter’s wants and needs above his own so that she can be happy.
