Being a business woman in Mexico is a triple challenge that many dare to face, even adding factors that make it more difficult, such as motherhood. In this stage, Victoria147 is an organization specialized in entrepreneurship programs for women in Mexico that is celebrating 11 years promoting entrepreneurial women throughout Latin America.
This organization “offers a safe space of support for female entrepreneurs,” says Karla González Jáuregui, growth director of the firm, in an interview for Entrepreneur.com.
“It doesn’t matter if you’re starting from scratch, we help you grow until you consolidate your brand or company. Our mission is to accompany each entrepreneurial woman to increase her impact and go further and further,” she adds.
Of course, Victoria147 has been a witness and factor in the change in the landscape for entrepreneurial women in Mexico.
“There has been a constant evolution and there is more and more awareness. To begin with, the certainty with which women undertake business has changed. They start from a position in which, it is not that they want to be like an entrepreneurial man, but that they enjoy starting from their field,” she comments.
What does Victoria147 do for women entrepreneurs?
After a decade contributing to female entrepreneurship, they have accompanied more than 17 thousand women: business owners, company founders and more, in the birth and growth of their projects.
“We realized that there was a lot of entrepreneurial movement in Mexico, but not necessarily the conditions for women. We had to change the way of doing business for Mexican entrepreneurs. We women function as a network, as a tribe, we hold hands,” explains Karla.
Now, Victoria147 supports women in three main axes, depending on the moment or stage in which your business is:
1. If you barely have an idea how you want to start, they guide you to make the business plan you need. “We help you get the idea down, land it, ask yourself those questions that will tell you ‘yes, yes, it’s a good idea’ or ‘no, I’d better go the other way,’” explained González Jáuregui.
2. When you are already in business, but you are doing everything and you want to take the next step. “How do you start to form a team? How do you start to generate a strategy? How do you start to make things happen without everything depending only on you? We have to resolve that to move forward.”
3. When you want to expand and enter another distribution chain or cross borders, that is, open another line of business.
3 tips that apply to any entrepreneur
1. Link to your purpose
“Be certain that what you do has a cause, a reason. Because difficult times are going to come and if you are not clear about your purpose, it is very easy to throw in the towel,” recommends the growth director of Victoria147.
2. You are not alone
“You don’t have to know everything or do everything on your own. You should know that you are not alone, that the more people who join your project, your vision, the better. And that asking questions and exchanging ideas helps us find new possibilities.”
3. Prepare yourself
“Plan, organize, visualize… Find a way to consolidate your idea, your purpose. Train yourself in everything that contributes to your project and keep an eye on future trends. Form a support network and anticipate scenarios, because things are going to change and that will help you stay focused on the objective,” she concludes.

“We are more comprehensive women, we are women who know that our personal lives are not at odds with our professional lives. We know that our leadership is a more inclusive leadership that is a more conscious leadership. That’s without leaving aside billing and profitability, which makes your passion a business and you can make a living from it. That is the mission that has us here,” concluded the growth director of Victoria147.
