The INR has 226 beds, 18 operating rooms and 107 offices.
The medical staff of the INR is made up of 352 professionals from the medical area, 1,306 from the paramedical branch and 550 from nursing.
The general director of the National Institute of Rehabilitation (INR) “Luis Guillermo Ibarra Ibarra”, Carlos Javier Pineda Villaseñor, in a working meeting with the Commission for Attention to Vulnerable Groups of the Chamber of Deputies, which in Mexico about 21 million People suffer from some kind of disability, so they require quality specialized care.
In addition, he mentioned that disability is a human condition that most people will suffer at some point in their lives, temporarily or permanently, especially given the increase in life expectancy.
During the meeting, he highlighted that the National Institute of Rehabilitation (INR) is the only instance in the country that provides comprehensive services of high specialty in rehabilitation in a hospital complex made up of 13 buildings, eight of which are for medical care in specialties such as Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Audiology, Phoniatrics, Otorhinolaryngology and care for severe burns.
The general director of the INR specified that the objective of this meeting with members of the Legislative Power, held at the institute’s facilities, is to share actions and strengthen collaboration to expand access to highly specialized services for people with disabilities.
The medical director of the INR, Álvaro Lomelí Rivas, indicated that the institute offers diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services with the most advanced technology to meet the needs of its patients.
The president of the Commission for Attention to Vulnerable Groups, Gabriela Sodi Miranda, announced that in Mexico, the Consultation for Vulnerable Groups will be issued for the first time, specifically on specialized education for people with disabilities.
