The hook to V Rising is being tremendous, but right now I’m at one of those points where I’m considering restarting the game and getting serious about taking advantage of everything I’ve learned. Frankly, it’s a pain.
Precisely for this reason I have thought that, if I can save it for someone, I am sure they will thank me. Here is a series of tricks and tips that will be of great help to you during the first hours of the game.
We will try to do it without spoilers and trying to keep the surprise as intact as possible, but there are few ways to explain according to what advice, so go in knowing that you can screw something up.
Play V Rising however you want. Also solo
You asked us in the GG several times about the possibility of playing solo and, yes, you can. In fact, you have three options to choose from depending on what suits your style of play:
- PvP: to play solo or co-op (up to 4 players) on servers where other players can attack you and steal your loot.
- PvE: to play solo or cooperatively (up to 4 players) on servers where other players cannot attack you and steal your loot.
- Private server: to play solo or cooperative (up to 10 players) on a server with a password.
In the near future, the possibility of playing offline will also be offered, but for now the option is not available.
In addition to having some very entertaining combat, in solo mode it is relatively easy to advance without problems and defeat bosses on your own, so give it a try if you do not have anyone nearby who is encouraged to play.
Missions serve as a guide
The tutorial It is in charge of offering you new buildings and showing you the bases of what is to come. Don’t ignore quests. Try to complete them in order to advance and get new options and abilities. If any of them choke you, go to the menu section where the bosses and their rewards appear to see if it is the path you are looking for (it very often is).
I have something to tell you about V Rising teleportation
In V Rising teleportation is limited and you will not be able to travel with resources in your inventory. Anything above the toolbar will need to be discarded, so it’s best to travel light and without any items you’ve grown fond of.
Do not go to a corner of the world to live
One of your first quests after beating the tutorial is to find a site for your castle. Take the opportunity to place it next to a nearby teleportation portal, but don’t spend too much time on it.
the map of V Rising it’s huge and, at least for the first few hours, you’ll be glad you picked a more central spot in the first area of the map. When you find a place that is comfortable and easy to navigate, then start building the final castle.
Vampires drink blood. hydrate
Your blood meter runs out much sooner than you think, and almost always at the worst possible time. Remember that you must stock up before entering areas with enemies such as skeletons and undead that you will not be able to liquefy.
Going with full pockets is not always a good idea
Both your pockets and your trunks fill up spectacularly quickly, so the next time you see a bone lying on the ground and you head for it, try to stop and think if you really need it.
You will do it, do not hesitate, all the materials end up being used for something more than you initially think, but finding the resources you need in V Rising too easy. Also, if you go for the bosses, you will probably come out of every battle with your pockets full.
I wish all survival maps were like V Rising
Speaking of finding resources, lean on the map so that those farming procedures that you will end up finding are more bearable. In addition to being able to mark places to find your way around easily, by moving the mouse over each zone you will be able to see the catalog of resources it offers.
Day to manage, night to explore
Sunlight is deadly to vampires. In V Rising you can move around in the sun’s rays and you won’t have too many problems, but try to find a shadow to go to before you start to burn. You can walk the map from cover to cover in broad daylight, but it ends up being both uncomfortable and dangerous.
The ideal is to take advantage of the day to manage your base, continue expanding it, and start our resource manipulations with everything we have managed to bring to the base. Remember to leave what you do not need before starting the trip.
Not all blood is the same
The type of blood you just drank can influence your stats. If you mouse over the blood pool you will see what options each blood type offers, and if you do the same on the enemies they will indicate both the type and the purity they offer. Anything above 30% is usually a boon, so try not to kill them.
The cure sneaking behind a tree
Among the many skills that you will unlock in V Rising, one of the first will be to heal you. To do this, simply find a place where they can’t attack you and let your blood pool do the rest after activating the ability. Do it whenever you put a tough fight behind you.
Our greaves broke from using them so much
When you see golden symbols in the shape of a ring or armor appear at the bottom of the screen, you know that the time has come. Unfortunately for you, that means your equipment is beginning to wear out and needs repair.
The good news is that during the first few hours going through this process is relatively simple and resources are easy to find, but it will not always be so. Instead of throwing away that sword that you no longer want, better put it safely in a chest. At some point it may come in handy.
A good hack in time
At a certain point in the game you will understand that your harvesting tools can be much more than just tools. Well, do not hesitate to test their effectiveness as weapons. For forcefulness and speed you will find options that work much better for you against certain enemies.
Metal Gear V Rising
At this point in the film you will have already discovered that the labyrinthine scenes of V Rising they’re far from exploration gems, but it’s often worthwhile to circle camps and see what other paths are available to you before launching into the attack.
On more than one occasion I have been able to clear entire camps to make fighting a boss easier. What I’ve also found is that with all the putties gone, boss fights are much more enjoyable. You can focus on dodging and looking for openings instead of slashing left and right.
Dead the dog, the rabies is gone
When you’re fighting a tough enemy that’s all about summoning allies, always focus on the boss. Unless the situation gets too out of control, killing him will annihilate everything around him, including trees and stones. You’ll worry about eliminating minions later.
If he has a skull on his life bar, he doesn’t want to be your friend.
Maybe you will meet an enemy that shows a skull instead of your level. Maybe you think that it is not so hard anyway and that you can try to kill it in rat mode. Maybe because it can happen, you’ll get excited enough to get close to him and see how much damage you take away.
What is certain is that you will get scalded. Keep in mind that the attacks of these types of bosses are much more varied than those of normal enemies, which usually involve ranged attacks or very fast magic that can put you in a bind. Come on, maybe you should run.
Take advantage of the blood moon, Mei Mei
At a certain point in the game you will see that it arrives a very different night. It’s the perfect time to go hunting and take advantage of the advantages that you can see when you check your blood supply by hovering over it with your mouse.
Every big game has a fishing rod
Fishing is not only a good way to get new materials, it’s also the perfect opportunity to loot rare weapons and tools that someone must have thrown into the river. Pollution in the vampire world is fatal, but from time to time some little gift.
