The bezels or edges on cell phone screens are getting smaller every day. Folding smartphones are the most exaggerated sample of this statement. However, they are still present in the team compositions of all brands. Samsung looks like it’s going to break the mold with a devicewith which he ensures that he will have an infinite screen and Apple seems to follow in his footsteps by integrating this hardware into the iPhone.
Just as it says iPadize: The idea of the manufacturers is to improve the user screen experience. The curved bezels that go to the sides of the cell phones are great and give an impressive aesthetic to the equipment.
But the ones that Samsung has in mind (patent and plans) do not even have that minimum of edges. In fact they “sell” it as “zero bezels”.
The information was revealed by the same director of Samsung Display, Jung Yong-Wook, during a presentation at the K-Display Business Forum at COEX, in Seoul. The executive explains that this screen allows the integration of a camera under its panel, through UPC technology.
Samsung, once again, will be a pioneer in implementing this technology in its equipment. But the report from the cited media says that Apple has already requested access to the patent to integrate them into the iPhone soon.
So this pair of giants will take a step forward in immersing users in a better screen that improves the experience in the consumption of streaming content and video games.
Apple is reportedly working on a bezel-less iPhone.
