Zack Snyder and the negative criticism of Batman vs Superman
Within Full Circle, a charity event organized by Snyder himself, the director of the army of the dead was questioned about the multiple layers of storytelling he provided the characters in the film. For Zack, that was perhaps the most division caused in hearing (via):
“I think that’s probably what made the movie so polarizing. I think, and maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like a lot of people went to the movies saying ‘Oh, it’s an exciting superhero event, right? Let’s have fun with it’”.
Later, he delved into that statement. He mentioned that the material in the film required more attention than it was given. and this could inconvenience a certain sector of the public.
“We gave them this kind of staunchly deconstructivist, multi-layered, experimental, mythological, modern superhero movie. which requires… What you really need to pay attention to. that was not cool [para la crítica y audiencia]. That’s not something any of them wanted to do.. They probably thought, ‘What? No! This is exhausting, what? why do they fight at night? I hate that‘”.
