The Vatican in the metaverse and its gallery of NFTs
Through the use of a Virtual Reality headset, Sensorium will seek to develop a gallery with “desktop” experiences for PC and through the Sensorium Galaxy smartphone application, although in the latter it will not have the advantages of VR.
It is expected that this Vatican collection of NFTs hits the metaverse later this yearalthough its Beta phase is already ready.
According to developers, in addition to the Vatican works of art, users will be able to create their own avatars and characters to interact with each other, as well as with the pieces to exchange in an internal marketplace.
And it is that the Vatican has a repository of the best works of art and objects in the world, its museum was founded in the 16th century and houses some 800 pieces, including important works by Renaissance artists, such as Michelangelo and Raphael, as well as more modern works by the likes of Wassily Kandinsky and Vincent van Gogh.
“The nature of this project for Humanity 2.0. it is exclusively social and not commercial. In addition, here the NFTs do not necessarily have to come from works of art, but can also include tickets and other objects”explained the Vatican press representative, who assured that NFTs will not be used to sell products or objects.
