YOUR FIRST DAY IN KINDERGARTEN? HELP HIM WITH THESE TIPS
When the children are around three years old it is a great stage, in which, among other things, they will start attending kindergarten or preschool. However, it also implies the first real separation between the little one and the family, so the more beautiful the experience, the better the children and parents will be.
The scene outside of schools is common when mom cries when leaving her son and that can infect the child because many feelings and love are mixed.
The truth is that it is not exactly the most recommended since you can generate fear and anguish for your child. Therefore, we give you some tips for the first day in your child’s kindergarten:
Prepare it
1. Begin to mentally prepare your child from days before entering kindergarten but in a positive way. Try to convey confidence and emotion to live this new adventure.
Avoid the rush
2. Have ready in advance everything your little one should bring that day. If you leave everything to the last, the chaos and rush will surely make you feel distressed. You can even ask him to choose a toy or object that provides security and take it that first day to say goodbye at the door.
Encourage him
3. When you go to leave him, try to cheer him up and explain what will happen as soon as he walks through the school door. Do not lie to him or deceive him with stories, as that can hurt him. Introduce him to his teacher and help him come in happy.
Resist tears
4. Although it sounds complicated, try to hold back the tears and all those feelings in your stomach so that your child stays with the best image of you when entering kindergarten. Try to make the farewell natural and quick, smile at your child. Once alone, drop everything you bring. The fact that your child enters kindergarten brings a sea of mixed feelings, you experience a lot of happiness for this new stage, but also a sadness to know that they will no longer be together all the time, anxiety, fear… Calm, all this will be relaxing as you go from the days and when you see how happy your son is to share his day with friends.
Trust him
5. You are confident in your ability to adapt to positive changes. Only in this way can you convey security with words and actions.
Remember that your first day in kindergarten is part of a process of transition and adaptation of vital importance for your development, so the way it is resolved will impact your learning and socialization. As parents, you must pass on positive things to him that adequately influence his growth.
