Dwayne Johnson, in partnership with the North American network NBC, will launch a comedy series based on his life. It will be called Young Rock, and it will explore the star’s childhood and adolescence, his stage as a professional wrestler, and his triumph in Hollywood, all with the aim of making fans laugh and share the great journey he had to do to become the star that is today.
The fiction, which opens on February 16 in the United States, stars Adrian Groulx and Bradley Constant as The Rock youth at ages 10 and 15, respectively. Both can be seen in the short trailer shared by Dwayne Johnson himself: “Ladies and gentlemen here’s the first look at Young Rock. I really wish my father was around for me to see this. He would have been proud of me. And yes, I was clearly kicking my ass from puberty at 15 and became a tequila mogul when I was 10. I can’t wait to make you and your families laugh and share some life lessons I learned along the way.”.
A year of many projects
In addition to the launch of the Young Rock series and an energy drink called Zoa, Dwayne Johnson has several projects that must be launched in 2021. One of them is the Netflix film Red Notice, in which he shares the limelight with Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds. Also Jungle Cruise, a Disney film directed by Jaume Collet-Serra in which he shares the leading role with Emily Blunt. In the case of this production, the release date would now be set for August 6 in our country.
