One of the most anticipated games of the season is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the new proposal published by Square enix that seeks to leave a good taste in the mouth of Marvel fans after the irregular reception it was subjected to The Avengers.
The company wants to surprise all fans of Star-Lord and company by betting on a title that takes up the essence of the films directed by James Gunn and combines it with an attractive gameplay.
As an example of this approach, let us remember that one of the key elements of Gunn’s tapes is the music and to be in tune Square enix premiered the music video for the original song “Zero to Hero “, played by the fictional metal band Star-Lord, headed by Steve Szczepkowski, senior audio director at Eidos Montreal, the game’s developer.
The song is the group’s second single and the video takes up all the 80s aesthetics of glam metal and is accompanied by animated images with a look and feel similar to cartoons from those years, all presented in VHS format.
Despite this tuning of approaches, it is worth remembering that the version of the Guardians of the Galaxy that we will see in the game will be different from the one in the films and a clear example of this is that Peter Quill takes the name of Star-Lord of the aforementioned metal band.
On the other hand, the official playlist of the game, in addition to including “Zero to Hero” and “Space Riders (with No Names)” by Star-Lord, features licensed music from Mötley Crüe, Bonnie Tyler, Billy Idol, Pat Benetar, Def Leppard, Blondie and many more. All themes will be present throughout the game with the possibility of being disabled for streaming.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy It will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, PC and streaming via GeForce NOW starting this October 26. In addition, the game will arrive on Nintendo Switch via cloud gaming on that same date.
