WhatsApp is developing an option that will allow a specific expiration date to be set in the group chatsso that they automatically disappear from the application once the established time limit has passed.
Currently they can only delete the group chats the users who manage them. Before deleting a group, you must delete all its participants and then leave the group. Also, once removed, your members will still see you in their chat list, but they won’t be able to send messages.
The company is now working on a feature called ‘Expiring Groups’ that will allow its users to establish a specific duration for these group chats, as WABetaInfo has recently warned in version 23.5.0.71, launched through the TestFlight beta program for iOS.
This portal has advanced that the messaging platform will enable different usage time limits for these conversations by several members. Initially, they will be ‘In a day’, ‘In a week’ or ‘Custom time’. Finally, WhatsApp enter the button ‘Remove expiration date’ in case you have previously established one.
This option, which will be included in the group information section, is currently under development and it is unknown when it will reach the user base of this Meta service.
