Yesterday Xiaomi presented a significant amount of product news with the official launch of the new Xiaomi Mix 4, Xiaomi Mi Pad 5, etc., but something that went quite unnoticed was the arrival of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition, an improved version of MIUI 12.5 focused on optimizing system performance.
In this case, it is not a new version as such, but a small face lift focused on optimizing the performance of our phones, the autonomy that they are capable of giving and even the fluidity of the system itself.
General optimization of the system that will give us a better user experience
MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition focuses its improvements on four large blocks that will help the system respond in a much more fluid way to the different functions that we perform on the phone. These pillars are the following:
- Atomic memory
- Focus calculation
- Liquid storage
- Smart balance
If we start by talking about the atomic memory, Xiaomi tells us that this new functionality consists of the system, in an intelligent way, will be able to prioritize the closure of the less important tasks that are running, With which we can free up a sufficient amount of memory to run other applications or tasks much faster and more efficiently.
Another of these novelties is the focus calculation, a functionality that has a philosophy very similar to atomic memory but, in this case, giving priority to the process that the user is currently using and reducing the resource consumption of the rest. With this, the system will be able to focus all its efforts on the application that we are using at that moment in order to ensure that its performance is optimal.
As for the third novelty called “liquid storage”, Xiaomi incorporates in its system a functionality that intelligently reduces the number of reads and writes to the device’s internal storage, with which we will achieve a performance without lag problems with prolonged use of the smartphone.
Finally, if we take a look at the smart balance, We again have a functionality with the same objective as the previous ones. In this case, It is an algorithm with the particularity of being able to balance the energy consumption of the system and improve its performance, providing enough power for each task to avoid wasting it in the event that it is not needed.
Availability and compatible models
In principle, MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition will reach the Chinese market and it is unknown if it will end up reaching devices that are sold globally. Its deployment will begin on August 13 and the compatible models are as follows:
