With its mind focused on an upcoming version of MIUI 13, Xiaomi continues to improve the system applications with the aim of offering the best possible user experience. The last to benefit from these improvements has been the gallery application incorporated directly into the system, which adds several really interesting new functions.
A better organization of our photographs, Xiaomi’s obsession
If we review these new features, we can start with a functionality already present in other existing customization layers in Android, but that until now we did not have available in MIUI.
In this case, we are talking about the map function, which It will show us the exact location on a map of the place where we take our photography or video to be able to remember in a much more visual and precise way the place where we captured it.
Another novelty that is incorporated into the MIUI gallery application is a new interface for the screenshots that we take on our device.
From it, we will be able to select a greater number of options at the level of brushes to be able to personalize it, a greater variety of texts and, the most striking thing is that we can add the silhouette of our phone next to the capture directly from this section.
And as if this were not enough, we have more news regarding the application widget and its organization modules. As for the widget, MIUI will now allow us to add up to six images in it, nothing revolutionary but a leap forward that is appreciated.
And finally, this application will organize our photos in a much better way thanks to artificial intelligence. Thanks to it, the system will intelligently organize all our photos and videos by folders, being able to separate them between those that we capture ourselves and those that generate the different applications that we use in our day to day.
In addition, a new photo organization module has been added from where we can have greater control over all the files that we have stored in this application, having a simple and direct access to the recycle bin and other cleaning functions.
Of course, we must bear in mind that, at least for the moment, these new features are incorporated into the latest closed beta of MIUI’s China ROM, so we will have to be patient to be able to enjoy them in a future stable European or Global ROM.
