Are we getting closer to a real-life simulation of Yo Robot? We do not know. Nor do we believe that we will have consequences similar to that of the film. The truth is Xiaomi has developed its own humanoid robotnamed as CyberOnewilling to compete with Tesla’s Optimus.
The company unveiled the machine at its most recent device launch event, and according to the report on the website of Xataka, CyberOne is capable of sensing emotions and moving at 3.6 kilometers per hour.
At the meeting, Xiaomi presented a first functional version of the humanoid robot, holding a flower that he gave to Lei Jun, the CEO of the company.
The appreciation left by CyberOne is that it is in an early stage of development, but it has many similarities with Tesla’s Optimus, one of the most boasted creations by Elon Musk.
CyberOne Features
Xiaomi did not reveal many details about the robot, but Lei Jun revealed that this machine weighs 52 kilos and measures 1.77 metersso he is light and of an average adult height.
For now, the robot can holding things with their hands and walking in a very particular wayr, about 3.6 kilometers per hour. It is not bad and probably in the future we will see him jogging or running.
The CyberOne has a system called Mi Sense that allows it to detect emotions such as happiness or sadness and has spatial vision. On its head, it has an OLED screen that changes color depending on the context it is in.
The robot can move by having a mechanical joint module with a maximum torque of 300 Nm (Newton meter). In total, there are 21 points that you can move freely.
What made the eyes of those present and listeners huge was the price of CyberOne, expensive to produce for Xiaomi. If you have between $86,000 and $100,390 savedyou could have one at home bringing you coffee.
