Last week, Xiaomi announced a new and interesting functionality that it would soon integrate through its well-known voice assistant Xiao AI. This function consists of an automatic recognition of the voice from the content we are playing, which It can be translated in real time and that we can view through a floating window generated by the system.
Now, Xiaomi has confirmed the official launch of this functionality, which is introduced in the new Xiaomi Mix 4 as the first device, and later it will reach the rest of the phones compatible with it.
Real-time translations thanks to artificial intelligence
As they tell us from MyDrivers, Xiao Ai Translator uses the most advanced artificial intelligence technology to ensure that the translations of the content it performs work correctly in real time.
This functionality you will have a really easy access thanks to the control center, a place from which we can display a floating window in which the different translations of content that we are currently playing will be displayed.
In addition, Xiao Ai Translator can not only be used in video playback, but also it also fully supports video calls, voice calls, and even online meetings that we can carry out with our mobile device, something really useful in the case that we talk with people who do not speak the same language.
For the moment, Xiaomi has not confirmed the languages in which it will be availablee, but everything indicates that, at least initially, it will only be able to be used in English and Chinese and, as the company continues to work on improving the function, they will add support for many more languages.
Which Xiaomi phones are compatible with Xiao Ai Translator
As we have commented previously, the Xiaomi Mix 4 will be the first device that can enjoy this functionality And, starting next September, it will gradually reach a greater number of phones thanks to the stable versions of MIUI 12.5.
As usual, at least for now, this functionality is reserved only for devices with Chinese ROM, so we will have to be patient to know if it finally ends up reaching the rest of the brand’s smartphones globally, something that, without a doubt, would be fantastic news.
