Recent reports from Reuters indicate that Microsoft is accelerating its plans to get a title similar to the famous Chinese action rpg and gacha. Apparently, Xbox seeks to have its own Genshin Impact and, perhaps, Tower of Fantasy is its answer following Hotta Studio’s announcement of wanting to bring their game (inspired by Genshin) to other consoles. If you have never played Genshin Impact you should know that it is an anime-style open world game, whose monetization method is through the gacha mechanicsin which players pay for the chance to win high-rarity characters and weapons that they can then use in-game.
From Reuters they affirm that microsoft is in the exploration phase of the Chinese market, waiting to find new development studios that it can add to its extensive roster. Apparently, Reuters sources have revealed that Microsoft is putting big money offers on the table even to independent studios from the country.
Xbox seeks to have its own Genshin Impact Will Tower of Fantasy be exclusive to Xbox?
You may wonder, what does all this have to do with Tower of Fantasy? Well, very simple. Hotta Studio is a relatively independent Chinese developer whose biggest game so far is Tower of Fantasy; game fully inspired by Genshin Impact for its open world, gacha and action rpg elements. Recently, the director of the studio revealed that there are plans to bring ToF to consolesHowever, he did not give more information about it.
What online element would we like to see in Hogwarts Legacy?
Since its introduction, Hogwarts Legacy has been advertised as a game with a single-player experience…
At the global launch of ToF, the viewer numbers on Twitch almost matched Genshin Impact, while the number of players was truly incredible. Without a doubt, Tower of Fantasy had a successful launch, and not too long ago they released version 2.0 which includes a new map and many other new features. It is likely that Xbox signs an agreement with Hotta Studio to bring ToF to the green ecosystem as soon as possiblealthough it is also possible that Microsoft chooses to develop a completely original title.
