Elon Musk Apparently he is an old sea dog who knows perfectly well the recklessness and carelessness that can be committed on X’s partner network, formerly known as Twitter.
There are some acts that can trigger serious problems when the user is a celebrity or public figure, such as a politician, public official, or it is an account that represents a business or organization.
Not many know it, but on each page with the public X profile of each user, it is possible to find a tab where each of the publications they have clicked on is compiled. Like throughout the existence of the account.
This helps us give us an idea about the profile of interests and tastes of the person we follow. But it can become an element of potential crisis when, say, the account of a Mayor or a famous actor ends up giving him Likes to pornographic publications.
Elon Musk seems to have thought about this situation and has decided to turn the matter into an opportunity to generate more income on his social network.
Since now it will be possible to hide which publications are given “I like it” within the social network. But obviously it will be necessary to pay for it.
X hides Likes and allows Premium users to validate your identity faster
Around the same time the people at X, or Twitter as it was previously known, have released two new features for its paid Premium users who are subscribed to the monthly plan of US$8.
This mode, previously known as Twitter Blue, will now enable a new section in the settings menu with which it will be possible to completely hide the Likes tab.
By doing so now, users who enter the profile of said accounts will only be able to see the official publications and responses, without being able to track what the Premium user of X has liked.
That does not, of course, prevent the person who receives the Like from realizing who did it. But at least it helps to amortize the exposure of that history.
In parallel, it has been released another new feature where Premium users can upload an official identification along with a selfie to the X system to authenticate that it is them almost automatically.
With these improvements, more benefits are offered to those who are willing to pay. But they are not exactly new developments that will drive subscription hiring for average users.
