2020 was an unparalleled year for our generation, marked by COVID-19 and social protests around the world, the winners share a melting pot of visions and interpretations on the issues that were at the table such as the climate crisis, rights of trans people and territorial conflicts. World Press Photo’s exercise is to bring these topics to us so that they become part of the conversation.
For the 2021 edition of World Press Photo at the Franz Mayer Museum shows 141 images grouped into eight categories: Contemporary Topics, General News, Environment, Long Term Projects, Nature, Current News, Sports and Portraits.
