This week, Binance offered workshops to the Specialized Fiscal Unit in Cybercrime of the Argentine Public Prosecutor’s Office and to the Police of the City of Buenos Aires, where they discussed cybersecurity, blockchain and cryptography. This was reported to Cointelegraph en Español through a statement.
The presentations addressed the concepts of blockchain and crypto assets, AML (anti-money laundering) policies of Binance and the processes and tools developed by the company to collaborate with the authorities in the fight against cyber and financial crimes.

Speakers included Renato Barreto and Florencia Rampi, investigative specialists from Binance’s Intelligence and Investigations team, led by Matt Price, former IRS Criminal Investigations Special Agent in the Cybercrime Unit in Washington.
At the Buenos Aires City Police, the audience was made up of representatives from the Cybercrime Investigation Division under the Superintendency to Fight Cybercrime.
These actions are part of the ongoing work of the exchange around the world to deepen market intelligence and help strengthen efforts to prevent, investigate, and combat financial crime. Earlier this year, in Buenos Aires, the company already offered a similar workshop for investigators at the 7th Meeting of the Interpol Americas Working Group on Cybercrime for Heads of Unit.
Matt Price, Binance’s Head of Intelligence and Investigations in the Americas said: “At Binance, our priority is protecting our users. True to this mission, we have invested heavily in a security and compliance team that aligns with this priority and sets the standard across all financial services, not just cryptocurrency. Every day we work hand-in-hand with law enforcement to track and locate suspicious accounts and fraudulent activity, contributing to the fight against cybercrime and financial crime. By launching our own investigations and working with major law enforcement agencies to protect users, we aim to lead the industry in security and compliance.“.
From Binance they affirm that: “The company has one of the most stringent anti-money laundering policies in the financial technology industry and plays an important leadership role in helping law enforcement combat cybercrime, financial crime and terrorism. The company is registered to operate in France, Spain and Italy, three G7 countries with some of the most robust AML controls and regulations in the world.”.
