Sarah McInnes38, complained to her GP about going up two dress sizes from 12 to 16 in just four weeks in January this year.

Sarah, from Kilbirnie, Scotland, had been in pain for years and said she felt like she was “carrying a backpack full of stones”.

Sarah, a mother of three, said: “I had heard his excuses so much that I started to believe them.
“It was always just ‘You’re fat, you’re obese, you need to eat less.
“I was going crazy, I wasn’t eating much and had been on so many diets trying to lose the extra weight, but it never changed.”
He underwent a grueling four-hour surgery
Sarah underwent a grueling four hour surgery and a half in March, in which he also had to undergo a hysterectomy and removal of part of your stomach.

It can be extremely painful, particularly during a period, making sex and going to the bathroom unbearable and causing fertility problems.
The condition usually gets worse, especially if left untreated.
Sarah said: “The doctor told me that in the 25 years he’s been doing that specific operation for endometriosis, he’s never seen it look this bad.
“I’m so glad to be here.”
