- Through a tweet, “El Bronco” commemorated 8M, but did not achieve total empathy from Internet users.
- Said publication is accompanied by an image of “fashion expert” dolls, which generated a controversy among some users.
- Today marks International Women’s Day and, because of this, the conversation on social networks is focused on the actions that will be carried out.
Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, former governor of Nuevo León and known as “El Bronco”, commemorated 8M with a tweet, but his message did not cause empathy among Internet users.
Social networks have become an important window for conversations between the global community, a space in which, apparently, all opinions and voices fit, even when they do not coincide with each other.
Today, on the occasion of International Women’s Dayplatforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, among others, are part of everything that happens around the world, where the mobilizations of feminist groups, among other actions, are a global trend.
That is why it is not strange that some company or personality joins the 8M conversation, either as a mere strategy to win audiences or because, in reality, there is an ethical commitment in the middle with which they sympathize.
One of the many personalities who has used their social networks to commemorate International Women’s Day is the former Governor of the State of Nuevo León, Jaime Rodríguez Calderón, better known as “El Bronco”.
Through a tweet, “El Bronco” shared an image with dolls “fashion experts” as a way to “congratulate” women in the framework of International Women’s Day.
This is the publication that “El Bronco” uploaded to his social networks and that, however, did not generate empathy from Internet users.
Like its ancestors, this #8M women lead a fight for their rights and to make visible the violence they suffer in Mexico. Today the rest of us listen carefully to make, together, a country that is better for all. pic.twitter.com/wbFduWGpG5

Reviewing some of the comments generated by the tweet written by “El Bronco” on the occasion of 8M, users have criticized the fact of using these dolls to “congratulate” women.
To mention an example, a netizen wrote: “What need to cause controversy and make this type of publication with dolls to congratulate the woman”; another one wrote that “all good but I do not think that the image of Bratz represents what is commemorated today”; and one more tweet says “Now yes man, it happened. It looks like a mockery. Take the issue seriously and mainly because of the situation in the country, which is increasingly sad to see every event against women.”
Similarly, there are some users who did not take a dim view of Jaime Rodríguez Calderón’s publication:“The Bratz are ‘symbols of feminist values such as sisterhood, independence from patriarchy, the freedom to express themselves as women and the collective struggle against old canons; as well as the vindication of the collective struggle’. Well played”.
What has become clear is that, above all, social networks show the great universe of opinions that arise as a result of a trend, which, on this day, is the International Women’s Day.
We are speaking, in this sense, of a context in which women, today, endorse, more than anything else, the long feminist struggle in order to demand, among other things, the cessation of femicides and equal opportunities in the society .
In this way, the digital pulse once again demonstrates that platforms like Twitter and many others are that space for conversation and, in a certain way, for analysis, where users can make themselves noticed and, probably, initiate an important change in the structures .
