The film that will celebrate 100 years of life of the mouse studio, Wish: The power of wisheswill pay tribute to several of the classics that Disney has been released throughout its history through references scattered throughout the film.
In interview with Entertainment WeeklyChris Buck (Frozen) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (Raya and the last dragon), directors of wishthey explained that the film It will be full of elements representative of the studio’s past works. This, as a way to reinforce that wish will be the jewel in the crown in the celebrations of the Disney’s 100th anniversary.
“We wanted to make a movie that celebrates the joy of Disney and make a movie for the fans. It’s 100 years. “The Disney audience has kept us and the studio following, so there are a lot of references,” Buck said. “They are all over the movie. We’re putting together a list and you wouldn’t believe how long it already is. Some of those references will be “small” elements like the poisoned apple Snow White placed in the lair of the film’s villain, the Magnificent King. So when you want to narrow the focus to someone or some situation, we have all those tools at our hands to really emanate the watercolor of real life.”

“It is a wider screen. So it feels very epic and so does the story,” Buck shares. “The way things are portrayed is on purpose. And we embarked on this journey with the same idea,” adds Veerasunthorn.
Those involved in the production of wish They have been Disney fans since they were children, so there was no shortage of references to include in the film.
“It’s a love letter to those who inspired us while we were growing up.” Veerasunthorn concludes.
