Many times developers take things in stride, this is what has happened with the WinRAR people. WinRAR 6.10 says hello to Windows 11 and goodbye to Windows XP
Microsoft has incorporated a new context menu in your operating system with Windows 11. For application entries to appear here, applications must explicitly add the new function. The old menu is displayed, but we have to take more steps to get to the same place. WinRAR developers have now updated their software and integrated the new context menu with version 6.10. Users have the option to right-click to add files to an archive and send the packaged file.
In the configuration of the file decompression program, users can now select which WinRAR commands should be displayed in the context menu. Also, WinRAR in Windows 11 has an option with which items can be displayed in the old context menu. Using the key combination “Shift + F10” or a registry entry, it is possible to use the good old context menu from previous versions of Windows.
In addition to the integration into the new context menu, the update adds support for files with the extensions “.zst” and “.zipx”. You can find out about all the changes in this version 6.10 on the manufacturer’s website, in this link.
