Before the release of Windows 11 Miguel de Icaza, founder of Xamarin (Now part of Microsoft), let us glimpse that they had achieved something amazing in Windows 11. Something that I had worked on since I came to Microsoft, now we know that it is about offering Android apps on Windows 11 through the Microsoft Store. But, he has also talked about whether they will work without the Microsoft Store.
Windows 11 will allow you to install Android applications from outside the Store
The reality is that Miguel de Icaza has quickly indicated that yes, it will be possible but he has not indicated how simple this procedure will be. Remember that Android apps initially They will be limited to a selection of applications from those available in said store.
And it is!

Many people would have liked an integration with the Google Play Store instead of the Amazon App Store but, it seems that now the Windows Store could integrate any store and we should not rule out that option. The main problem is that at the moment the Amazon App Store is not very popular and has great absences such as Snapchat (An old problem returns) or Apple Music among other.
This could be resolved if allowed installation using APK files. But this could be a piracy and security problem. The ideal thing would have been to allow the APKs to be uploaded to the Microsoft Store, but Amazon seems a good ally.
At the moment, it seems that we will have to wait to know how to install Android apps in Windows 11. But it is interesting to know that we will not be limited, if we want, to the selection of Amazon apps. We hope that in the coming weeks Microsoft will provide more information about how Android apps work and about the availability of new apps in the near future. Who knows, maybe in the future we will have the apps without the need for Amazon.
