About a month ago we told you about Microsoft’s plans to include a series of notices in Windows 11 for unsupported computers. These would consist of a watermark on the desktop, and a notice in the Settings app indicating that we are running the new operating system on a computer. not supported.
These notices were implemented in version Insider of Windows 11. But apparently, with the cumulative that arrived yesterday at Release Preview and Beta, the Redmond company plans to extend this notice to its stable version.
Windows 11 will now notify you if your computer does not meet the requirements in its stable version
The user Anthony R. of the Discord community of Microsofters has informed us of this development. After installing the latest Insider Program Rollup, the watermark appears indicating that the PC running Windows 11 is not supported. This watermark was previously on Dev channel builds, but is now moved to stable.
At the moment this watermark is only available for users who have an unsupported computer, and install this latest cumulative. But unless Microsoft changes plansthis message will appear on all unsupported computers after installing the cumulative update of April.
Even with this new watermark appearing, the operating system will continue working normally. But it is possible that Microsoft will end up making it difficult to update features for unsupported users, forcing them to buy a new computer.
