Microsoft showed Windows 11 in June. The company decided to change the way it introduced its new features to the system, and now it makes a series of big changes first, and then makes small improvements. The problem is that this change in philosophy has not been of much use, and the Windows 11 Preview has had numerous faults in recent months, some of which were introduced after updating, as the company is accustomed to us.
On launch day, Microsoft has prepared a patch with bug fixes which will be installed on top of the RTM version that many manufacturers are already installing on the new computers they are manufacturing. This is done on each Windows launch, as is the case in many games with so-called day zero or day 1 patches.
Thus, only five days before the official launch, and where many manufacturers have already received the RTM version, Windows 11 still has many failures present in elements as basic as the start menu, the taskbar or the system search. The company has released the new build 22468 for Insiders within the development channel. The problem is that some of those patches may not reach the final version of Windows 11 by October 5.
Unfixed bugs are still in Windows 11
According to Microsoft, the update “fixes a lot of bugs and adds improvements.” Among them, Microsoft highlights two improvements: one, that if we are using a VPN connection, we can see the connection usage statistics. The second allows you to deactivate recent searches when we hover the mouse over the search button on the taskbar.
However, the long list of fixed bugs is really worrisome in the absence of only five days to launch. The company itself has acknowledged that some solutions that are already available on the developer channel will not reach the final version on launch day.
In recent weeks, Microsoft has fixed bugs related with hang on explorer.exe and in the taskbar. However, there are others reported that are not fixed, such as problems of energy consumption, wave inability to write text using the Search option from the taskbar. There are also issues where the taskbar flickers when switching from mouse to keyboard.
Another very common bug that Microsoft has not fixed is the one that affects the new widget panel, where the panel remains empty and everything is lost. The company’s solution is to log back into the system. There is another bug that there is no way to fix related to widgets, where they can appear at the wrong size if external monitors are used on a laptop.
In short, if you currently have no problem with Windows 10, it is best to wait a few months before upgrade to Windows 11. Thus, we will give you time to solve numerous bugs, and to launch the corresponding drivers for all our components and peripherals.
