What’s new in Build 19044.1618
Featured items in search in Windows 10
Last week a Build arrived on the Windows 11 Dev channel that included improvements to Windows Search. An update to Search that highlights interesting moments in our history. This feature, Improved Search is coming to Windows 10. We are taking a gradual and measured approach and general availability will occur in the coming months.
Search is right there on our taskbar. Now it will show us the information that is trending at the moment, both in the world and at a business level. Of course, we can keep typing to start looking for our apps, files, settings, and quick answers on the web.
The taskbar search box and search home page will be regularly updated with content, including vignettes , to help us discover more, stay connected and be productive. Search highlights will present notable and interesting moments of what is special in each day, such as holidays, anniversaries and other interesting moments in time, both globally and in our region. To see more details at a glance, hover over or click the illustration in the search box.
Explore additional content on the search home page related to each moment. With daily content like word of the day, Microsoft Rewards offers, trending searches, and more. Each day offers something different to learn. The left side of the search home page also displays an expanded list of our recently launched apps, files, settings, and websites to help us get back to what we were last doing.
If we sign in with our work or school account, search will become our single point of access to our company’s files and contacts through Microsoft Search. Search highlights will feature the latest updates from our company and suggested people, files, and more. Exploring the files that may be of interest or exploring the list of people in our organization. As always, we just have to start typing to find everything related to our organization, at our fingertips through Search.
