The entertainment brand detailed that the creation of Minnie’s new outfit is by British fashion designer Stella McCartney.
As a strategy to honor women in their month, Disney will swap out the iconic Minnie Mouse dress outfit for pants.
The information was released by Disneyland Paris, where they detailed that the character will wear pants for the first time during the theme park’s 30th anniversary celebration, which begins in March. They also indicated that they were also inspired by what the History of Women marks in the month of March.
This will be the new suit
It’s normal to think of Minnie Mouse and imagine her in her famous red dress with white polka dots and her iconic bow to match. But now her new look will be a dark blue blazer, matching pants and an oversized bow, all covered in polka dots.
Through his Twitter account, Disney shared what is the first look at the suit that Mickey Mouse’s companion figure will use, detailing that it was the brainchild of British fashion designer Stella McCartney.

For his part, McCartney asserted in recent statements that he is “Thrilled to be working on an outfit for such an iconic character as Minnie Mouse.”
“Minnie has always had a special place in my heart. We share the same values. What I love about Minnie is the fact that she embodies happiness, self-expression, authenticity and that she inspires people of all ages all over the world. Plus, he’s got great style!” he added.
Symbol of progress for a new generation
This symbolic change of clothing for one of Disney’s most popular and beloved figures It comes at a time when many brands are adapting and generating more inclusive strategies.

The American entertainment brand specified that when Minnie does not wear the pants, will be joined by other classic characters wearing new outfits specially designed for the anniversary of the park.
