Xiaomi wants to remain the first company in the world in terms of smartphone sales, and every step they take is focused on it. Just yesterday, a statement filed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange has revealed that The Chinese firm will start producing smartphones in Pakistan from next January 2022.
The company aims to manufacture up to three million smartphones per year in these facilities, which will suppose (according to Xiaomi own estimates) about revenues that could reach 450 million dollars annually.
Xiaomi continues to expand its operations outside of China
The key details of said operation were presented this week to the Pakistan Stock Exchange by Xiaomi’s local partner, Air Link Communication Limited. This production agreement has been carried out between Xiaomi itself and Select Technologies (Pvt) Limited (a subsidiary of Air Link Communication Limited), which It will be responsible for the production of mobile phones for the Asian firm in this territory.
As Air Link Communication Limited itself explains, the new investment made by Xiaomi aims at an annual production target that aims to reach figures of between 2.5 million and 3 million units manufactured, with the consequent impact on the financial prospects of the company.
The production facility where these devices will be manufactured is located near the Air Link mobile phone manufacturing complex in Lahore, a company that will continue to maintain a large part of the Xiaomi smartphone distribution chain in Pakistan, but which, thanks to its new facilities, will be able to produce a number of units higher than it had until now.
As we have commented at the beginning of this post, these figures translate into a forecast revenue that could reach $ 450 million annually, which aims to consolidate Xiaomi’s first position as the largest smartphone manufacturer in the market ahead of other firms such as Samsung or Apple.
