The great novelty that Mercedes-AMG advanced a few days ago has already been revealed. It is called WILL.I.AMG and it is a special creation that will not see the light of production, since it is only a charity project. What it is is a very radical commitment in design, a coupé from a sedan and a very peculiar stylistic crossover.
The latest designs by Gorden Wagener, the star brand’s chief stylist, are captivating more and more customers. A sporty, elegant and sophisticated style, at the same time, is what they are looking for and what ends up dazzling those interested, especially those who are not friends or lovers of “Russian dolls”. A style typical of a range cut with the same pattern and that, seen one, seen all.
But this time those of Mercedes-AMG They have gone a step further with their own project that will not see the light of day, despite the fact that it has a special appeal. The basis of this one-off is that of the Mercedes-AMG GT Saloon, which has been transformed into a coupé with authentic GT genes, very different from the usual Mercedes ones, but with a very interesting and attractive style. The entire front has been completely renovated, printing those of West Coast Customs a new air. So much so, that despite adding genes from the Mercedes G-Class, with a long and more horizontal front hood and adding the characteristic round headlights of the off-roader equipped with an LED ring, it also has a new name: that of WILL.I.AMG.
The WILL.I.AMG is a one-off with retro details
Even the rear doors have been removed and replaced with gigantic doors that occupy the space of theseanchored the hinges on the back, so they open in compass but in reverse, as in the luxurious Rolls-Royce. Except for the silhouette, the front and the rear that reproduce the style of the sports saloon and the iconic off-roader, as well as the alloy wheels typical of the “Exclusive” modelsthere is practically no other detail that is intrinsic to the mark of the star.
And it is that even the emblems have been replaced by a specific badge of a bear. The German firm has not shown its interior, only visible in one part through the large windows and part of the panoramic roof that occupies the surface of this panel, with a longitudinal beamrevealing only two front seats in a very delayed cabin.
The technical details of this special are also unknown. one-off, which are kept secret, although the front view with the large fully closed air intakes may be an indication, and despite this, it invites a 100% electric propulsion system. What is a reality is that it is not a preview of a future model, but rather a special development for a charitable purpose that aims to facilitate access to technical studies related to mathematics, computing, natural sciences and technology.
