It escapes no one that the past year has not been the easiest for Alec Baldwin: Blame for the involuntary murder of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the filming of ‘Rust’, which she also produced, has been followed by legal proceedings and the cancellation of her projects. It is likely that we will never see ‘Rust’ complete and, in addition, ABC shelved ‘Match game’, the contest that was going to present. But, groping around to see if the public is capable of forgiving him shortly after Amy Schumer’s jokes at his expense, the actor has begun to record two films… Christmas!
Ho Ho Ho
Perhaps to get away from the troubles of life or to wash his image, Alec will play Santa Claus himself in ‘Kid Santa’Along with his brother William. On the set, as the Daily Mail has shown, he has already been seen with a beard and a red suit, so there is no doubt. The director will be Francesco Cinquemani, an author specialized in Christmas things. His are (eye) ‘Vote for Santa’, ‘Christmas Thieves’ or its sequel, ‘The Christmas Witch’. All three films were directed last year, and still had time to make another two. When you think you are having a very productive day, think that Francesco has passed you on the right.
It seems that the director has grown fond of the Baldwins and Christmas, because at the same time he is directing ‘Billie’s Magical World’ in which both will have a role again. Both ‘Kid Santa’ and this are movies half real image and half animation, and the siblings are supposed to appear in only a couple of segments. But who knows what the magic of Christmas has in store for us.
alec baldwin has a couple of movies in full post-production, but without rushing: one, ‘Supercell’, a father-son drama with Skeet Ulrich and Anne Heche, and another, ’97 minutes’, as a hero who saves a plane without fuel before it is shot down. In fact, last year he could only be seen in the series ‘Dr. Death’. The rest of his projects, at the moment, are waiting the approval of the public: If he can take a good look at Baldwin playing Santa Claus and bringing kindness to good-hearted children, they’ll move on.
We only hope that he repeats some of the Jack Donaghy quotes in ’30 rock’, like “Happy Holidays… That’s what the terrorists say. Merry Christmas”. It would be a lovely Christmas present.
