- Walmart and other stores will not participate in the next edition of the Good End, which will start very soon.
- Facing the Good End of this year, it is expected to generate higher income compared to last year, which was framed by the serious period of the pandemic.
- El Buen Fin will take place from November 11 to 17.
Walmart and other stores will not have a place in the next edition of Buen Fin, which is very close to starting in 2021 with a green light in various parts of the country.
Practically, everything is ready for the start of the Good End of this year; Stores have already started to stock their stock of available merchandise and, more importantly, consumers are very willing to spend.
And it is that, compared to what happened last year, this 2021 there is a somewhat different festive atmosphere, probably one with better expectations regarding the future, despite the fact that, as is known, in Mexico, the situation with the pandemic is not completely controlled and the infections continue to advance every day.
Thus, within this framework, although also in a positive scenario due to the arrival of the Covid-19 vaccine, the long-awaited Good End will take place next November; however, it should be noted that there will be some significant absences.
Why won’t Walmart be there?
As we mentioned at the beginning, Walmart and other stores will not be part of the Good End 2021 catalog, such as Oxxo, Chili’s, Starbucks and others.
What is this about? Their absence is due to the fact that these chains no longer belong to the National Association of Self-service and Department Stores (ANTAD), which is one of those organizing the event.
Walmart exited ANTAD in 2019, being the largest chain of retail stores in the country. By staying out of ANTAD, the company created “El Fin Irresistible”, its own discount space for all its customers, which, this year, will last for 12 days and will also begin in November.
On the other hand, Oxxo, owned by FEMSA, withdrew from ANTAD in April of this year, counting, to date, with 19,655 stores in Mexico.
Just like these two, the companies that will not participate in the Good End will undoubtedly leave an important mark among consumers, especially at a time when they are ready to spend and, in some way, start shopping. looking forward to the end of the year.
Taking into account what happened last year, after the pandemic and its irremediable confinement, people were forced not to leave the house to avoid infections and, probably, more deaths due to Covid-19.
The Good End 2020 data
However, this was not an impediment for not generating large sales figures. According to Kantar data, during the Good End of 2020, revenues of $ 141.6 billion pesos were achieved, 20 percent more than in 2019, a year that generated sales of $ 118 billion pesos.
Likewise, it was revealed that 31 percent of Mexicans made their purchases through their savings; 24 percent used credit; and the rest of the population took their immediate resources to be able to make their purchases during the sales period.
Despite the pandemic, the numbers for 2020 were higher than those of 2019, which is why, for this 2021, with the more relaxed prevention measures, a greater participation of consumers is still expected.
