Is more better? This is not always the case in the world of mobile technology, where operating systems Android and iOS users can tell the difference between phones with two, three or four lenses. There are times when only two sensors end up offering better performance than the latest photographic promise on the market. The important thing is to know the technical aspects of the photographic system to know what you are buying.
The trend of incorporating multiple cameras into a smartphone has led to the belief that more is better in terms of photographic quality. It can be said that the same goes for the number of megapixels. However, according to Gabriela Cortés, Marketing Director of OPPO Peru, the excellent result in images is not directly related to the number of lenses.
“The key to exceptional photography lies not only in the number of cameras, but in the optimization of the software, the post-processing to capture the image, the sensor with which it is equipped, and the harmonization of hardware and software. In addition, to this is added the experience that the user can have with the different modes that the smartphone has ”it states.
Today you can find smart phones with four, five or even six cameras that, although they fulfill different functions, are not always used all. That is why there is a misconception that if a phone has more sensors, its photos will be of high quality. However, this does not always translate into that result.
What should I prioritize in cell phone cameras
Remember that the number of lenses on a phone allows for specific features, such as ultra-wide or telephoto lenses, which expand the range of options for users when capturing different scenarios. The quality of the lens itself – its aperture and ability to capture sharp details and accurate colors – is a key aspect that is overlooked by the average user even if it means more image quality than the number of lenses.
According to experts from OPPO, it can be difficult to use all the cameras on a smartphone and it can be confusing to know which camera to use for which situation. Therefore, it is better that before buying a new phone, the user knows the function of each camera and that they can take high-quality photos in different situations, either in low light or in confined spaces. Also, the selfie camera should be considered in the process of selecting a phone.
