A Google executive answered the question of why YouTube continues to be viewed, within the framework of the YouTube Works presentation, a contest that seeks to reward the best of advertising on this platform in its Mexican domain.
Bruno CiceroHead of Agencies at YouTube Mexico, explained to Merca2.0 why YouTube continues to be relevant and what elements are based on to continue growing, since the platform is one of the pioneers of digital video, where sites of streaming now they compete to keep part of the business.

Market2.0 . What have been the most important achievements, not only in sales, but also in motivating advertising creativity with YouTube?
Bruno Cicero – It’s very interesting, because the truth is that in recent years everything has changed from a perspective of life and media consumption. Suddenly it becomes easy for us to talk about the pandemic. Many things changed and from a media perspective, video was a central part of this disruption and change, because before we were very used to thinking of video as a means of building reach and today video has more use cases than ever before. : we communicate, study, learn, it accompanies us as always, we consume it in different formats and luckily, YouTube as a video platform covers the ecosystem.
Merca2.0 – What has been the biggest change on YouTube, since the recognition of advertising work on the platform?
BC – The main change that has been seen is that the bar has been raised, because it is very common in our industry to hear ‘I know how to do this, I have mastered it, I know how to run campaigns’, but many times we have not given that there has never been anything tied, from the campaign objective, the conceptualization, its strategy, the measurement to the execution of the creative concept.
Market2.0. What do you think is the importance of YouTube as an advertising medium, now that the streaming competing and old traditional media such as ooh wave TV do not cease to compete to attract investment in advertising?
BC – In a world like today where we all have more video to consume, in a region like ours, in a world where you can’t neglect yourself, people continue to watch YouTube and that is why I was telling you that you can find everything , you can watch series, news, live television, every day it is a world of rights, all these transmissions seek to be in the center of the hurricane.
