Having side effects from a vaccine is common. It does not pose any risk to your health or leave long-term effects on the body.
The effects you may experience with the vaccine
COVID-19 vaccines are the same. After getting vaccinated against the SARs-COV-2 virus, one may experience mild ailments, while others may report no symptoms. Depending on your immune system and how your body reacts to foreign pathogens, your body is likely to show reactions that can range from mild to severe.
Like coronavirus infections, vaccines can trigger symptoms that can appear similar to COVID symptoms. Since coronavirus vaccines are a copycat of the real virus, they trigger an immune response that resembles the immune responses triggered by COVID-19 infections.
The most common symptoms or effects …
From fever, fatigue, nausea to body aches, many symptoms have been reported in people who have received their COVID injections.
Apart from that, many have also experienced itching, redness, swelling at the injection site, which disappears within a day or two.
It is not known who has more side effects than the other. However, growing evidence suggests that certain factors may influence your chances of experiencing serious side effects, especially when it comes to women.
Women: More likely to suffer side effects
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, following an analysis of data published in the Weekly Morbidity and Mortality Report in February. It was found that while most reactions to vaccines COVID they were not serious, women reported more side effects from the vaccine than men.
Of the total number of vaccinations performed, women reported 79 percent of side effects. Although about 60 percent of the doses were given to women. According to the study, 19 women who received the Moderna injection were found to report an adverse reaction, while 44 percent of women. Those who complained of anaphylactic reactions received the injections from Pfizer.
Although it can be alarming to many women, it sure is intriguing to know why it happens and if women should be concerned at all.
A healthier immune system may be the main reason.
When someone receives a vaccine, the body’s immune system is activated, which produces antibodies to fight harmful pathogens. This, in turn, triggers inflammatory responses in the body, leading to various side effects.
While reports suggest that women are more prone to vaccine side effects, it could be because they have a stronger and healthier immune system compared to men.
Research has also claimed that women produce more vigorous antibodies compared to their male counterparts.
Experiencing side effects is a natural process and one should not be alarmed by it.
While women are said to be more susceptible to experiencing side effects from COVID vaccines, many researchers believe it could be due to behavioral factors. This means that while women are believed to be more expressive about their ailments than men, the analysis provided may be based on how vocal a person is about their physical pain.
That said, some experts believe that women are more likely to report side effects than men, leading to conclusions suggesting that women experience more side effects from vaccines.
