Twitter It has become the latest internet sensation for lovers of consuming series and movies resorting to digital piracy buccaneering. Since Elon Musk increased the length allowed for videos, half the world has taken advantage of this feature. What nobody expected is that Apple would take (legal) advantage of the situation.
A few days ago we shared the entire tape of Flash It had been completely leaked on the social network, all in the context of a scenario where the film was in its premiere period, struggling to collect as much as possible at the box office.
The simple fact that the tape is available within reach of a tap on our Smartphone can be a determining factor in deciding to save money on the entrance to the movie theater. But it seems that the guys from Apple TV Plus think under a different logic.
Since the streaming platform has decided to upload the entire first episode of its new exclusive series, Silo, to its official Twitter account. In a marketing move that seems to go against common conventions.
All as a bet to convince those who are not sure to pay a subscription for that platform.
Silo comes to Twitter legally courtesy of Apple TV Plus
Silo is a new exclusive series for the streaming platform of AppleTV+. It is based on the science fiction novel Wool by American author Hugh Howey.
And it turns out that out of nowhere the official account of the service on Twitter has fully uploaded the first episode of this season starter. All with the apparent and obvious intention of bringing the story to a wider audience in the hope of stimulating its number of subscribers.
The plot of the series, broadly speaking, takes place on a post-apocalyptic version of Earth, where what remains of humanity is confined to the Silo, a 144-story underground bunker that serves as a self-sufficient underground community.
The citizens are told that the world outside the Silo is dangerous, but, as would be obvious in this type of narrative, mysteries and intrigues about what really lies beyond it arise.
Apple has already renewed the series for a second season and in fact episodes one through ten are already available on Apple TV+.
Unfortunately, everything indicates that only the first chapter will be the only one released so that anyone can see it for free.
