Camila Avella stands out as a model and presenter, achieving victory in Miss Colombia 2023. Her notable historical achievement lies in being the first woman with a marriage and children to represent Colombia in the Miss Universe pageant in November. In addition, she marks a milestone by being the first representative of Casanare to be crowned the most beautiful woman in the nation.
From the age of 10, Camila dedicated herself to field tennis, standing out so much that she represented her department in various national tournaments, even reaching the top 10 in the junior category. Her decision to seek a sports scholarship led her to apply with the support of the Colombian Tennis Federation, as she herself shared in an interview with Semana.
At the same time, she entered the world of beauty pageants. Initially, she was chosen as Niña Casanare 2004, and then she participated in the Niña Colombia pageant, where she took the title for best face. At the age of 14, photographer Pablo Araque discovered her, convincing her parents to allow a photo session of her, which marked the beginning of her recognition.
At the age of 16, she moved to Bogotá and signed her first official modeling contract with INforma Models, participating in prominent fashion events such as Plataforma K in Barranquilla. Without settling, she looked for more opportunities and she appeared at a national casting for the Paris Hilton Fashion Show in Bogotá, being selected to walk on the catwalk. After a trip to Panama, she was hired by the Elite Model Management agency, opening the doors for her to travel to Miami, where she achieved international recognition.
Camila Avella studied Social Communication and Journalism at the Sergio Arboleda University. Her foray into modeling and her academic training opened the doors to the television world. In 2018, after being officially recognized as Señorita Casanare, she became the host of the program “Desafío Súper Humanos, XV Años.”
In the complicated context of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Camila married Nassif Kamle, a businessman in the textile sector. At the end of that same year, they joyfully announced that they were expecting the arrival of her first child. On April 14, 2021, little Amelia illuminated her lives at birth.
