Mexico will experience a change in your schedulewhich implies a change in the time, and this custom has become a tradition that is repeated twice a year. Time change is a common practice in many countries around the world, designed to optimize the use of natural light and promote energy savings. The underlying reason is based on the Time Zone Law, which dictates that 33 municipalities in the border area must maintain time changes to coincide with the southern regions of the United States.
As for the State of Mexico, Mexico City (CDMX), Veracruz, Puebla and 21 other Mexican states, they will not have to worry about time accuracy, since the practice of daylight saving time has been abolished in these areas. However, the border states, whose economy is largely based on trade with the United States, must maintain the habit of adjusting their clocks so as not to harm their economic and administrative relations.
It is important to remember that the elimination of daylight saving time in the country was due to its negative impact on the population, in addition to the fact that the benefits in terms of energy savings did not meet expectations. Despite this, during the winter season, some regions still continue to apply this measure.
